CITY OF DREAMS AND STORYTELLERS

INA SORO

City of Dreams and Storytellers Cover

Sometimes, I lie, under the night sky
And stretch out my hand.

When the light of a star reaches us
Does it ever find its way back?

Do stars see their own reflections
In the eyes of those who gaze upon them?

Are they warm to feel?
Do they taste sweet or bitter?

Do they crackle, like flames
Or shimmer like lights?

Do they scent the emptiness of space
Like candles in a dark room?

Is anything we think of stars true
In places other than our own minds?

I don't think so.

So I dream of touching stars.
Because only in my dreams
Can stars be touched.
